District 5100 Governor Doug Taylor

Doug joined Northeast Portland RC in 1988 and followed his work to the west side joining Beaverton RC in 1989. He served on the Club Board, Club Foundation Board and as Club President in 2008-09. PDG Larry Huot introduced him to Beaverton Together Drug Prevention Coalition where he served as president for many years and is still active after 24 years.
Polio eradication is a passion for Doug and he was D5100 PolioPlus Subcommittee Chair helping direct our first Panhandling for Polio campaign in 2010 inspired by Washington County Rotaract. Nearly $13,000 was raised in one day.
Doug has served District 5100 as AG, Polio Chair and Administrative AG before he was selected to be Governor. He is a member of the Paul Harris Society
His early years were spent in France, Virginia and Idaho. He has a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from OSU where he met Lynda, his wife of 44 years. Doug’s career was in telecommunications management. They have enjoyed many Rotary activities together including hosting a YEX student. They have two married children and one grandson all of whom are Paul Harris Fellows.
